It's been a tough couple of seasons, but the worst part of the rebuild is over.
The good news... The team will free up almost $69M in dead cap at the end of the season.
The next challenge?.. Many good players are in the last year of their contracts, with not enough cap room to sign them. That will put a lot of pressure on the team to offer good contracts to those players the night before the new season starts,
Down the road?.. New players brought in will need time to learn the system. Team ownership is undecided as to whether they will seek players with more intelligence to help this happen sooner, or go into roster building normally, and likely lose another full season to development.
